Fitting the prosthesis

Initial planning for the prosthesis.

The surgical procedure can be conducted in one or two stages. Your doctor will advise you as to what is most appropriate for you.

An exact copy, so called “impression”, of the surgery site is made after which work on making the prosthesis can begin (in the case of an ear, a copy is often also made of the other intact ear).

Approximately 4-6 months after surgery your prosthesis will be fitted and you will be able to begin wearing it.
